Blood donation article :)

Hello friends here it is the article made about our poll about blood donation in Craiova;)
And i understand its quite big but for who is interested give a quick look :)
The present article is an analysis of the poll applied to the people of Craiova about blood donation. The questions in this poll intend to gather some information about how people of Craiova are informed about blood donation and if they donate or not and why.
In total there´s 12 questions which two are open questions, the rest of them will be analyzed quantitatively in this article.
The first question is about the gender of the people and we had 29 female´s and 7 male´s that filled the polls. So the majority were females between ages from 17-19 and 20-25. Only 5 persons have from 26-35 and 1 had more than 36 years according to the second question of the poll.
The third question is about the level of education the majority have high school or bachelor degree. The remaining participants have master degrees (5) and more than two degrees only 1 person. Most of participants are in college in the moment so we can conclude most have good opportunities in terms of getting more knowledge.
The fourth question is about if people ever donate blood or not. We can majority of participants didn’t ever donate (28) and 5 of them donate and remaining 3 can´t give blood but they would like to do it. This data is according to the information we had that only 2% of Romanians donate blood.
The sixth question is referring to the importance about donating blood and 35 participants consider it´s important and only 1 person said it´s not important. We can conclude the majority is aware or at least they consider its importance.
The seventh question is about if the participants know where they can donate blood and 27 said yes they know and only 9 said they don´t know.
The eighth question intended to know if our participants knew another people that donate blood and the results we obtained were that 19 don´t know anyone who donated blood before and 17 affirmed that they know someone. The results of this question are very balanced and we can consider that the majority know people that donated blood and we think it´s a positive result.
The ninth question asked if the participants think the public in general are aware of the importance of the blood donation and 23 consider that they are and 13 don´t share that opinion.
The tenth question is the first evaluating question and asked if the participants knew where it is the blood transfusion center and 19 confirm they know but 17 said they didn’t knew. This confirms that almost half of the participants don’t know where they can donate blood.
The eleventh and final evaluating question intended to know if the participant’s knew about the rules of donating and majority said they don´t know them, 13 said they know most of the rules and only 8 participants confirm they know all.
The open questions were: Why you did or didn´t donate blood? And why we should donate blood? According to the first question they said that didn’t have the opportunity or they didn´t want to donate. This can lead us to conclude that most of them are not well informed about what it takes to donate blood or the importance of it. Some referring they don’t have time or even because they have health problems or don’t have enough weight.
The other question related with the reasons why we should donate blood most of the participants said because it helps other people for example sick people or in cases of accidents. Some said because it saves lives.            Comparing this last question and why they don’t donate  and the reason they give us to why not donate, it´s a bit of a contradiction because they said it´s important but still don’t want to do it.
In conclusion and according to the data we collected we can say most people are not well informed about the blood donation, their real benefits and also how to do it. We consider it would be important to give more information about this topic through the school system and also media could be a useful resource to bring more awareness to the public about why they should do it and how.

After this poll we strongly believe our Red Bracelet Club can be a positive opportunity to promote the blood donation. We hope more people start to donate blood and this way save so many lives.

Poll about Blood Donation

So today we go out on the streets of Craiova to make a poll with questions about blood donation;)
I must confess it was a bit hard to find people that wanted to answer but we manage to have all polls we needed so in the end it was positive ;)
Here are some pictures about that activity.
And what about you, ever donate blood? If don´t why not start doing it ;) Just a suggestion, it really save life's...

Civic Involvement

Today I am going to talk about how important is civic work in our community / society. Who better to start taking an active and positive attitude about so many aspects like environmental issues, volunteer work and so on, them ourselves leading others to take our example?
It´s a very important thing to developed actions that can make a change in our society. We can talk about the importance of voting our representatives, knowing our rights and duties as well. Be more engaging and informed about these issues can make an impact in your life and you can also be a part of activities to inform the public about this issue.

Another issue that is also very important is the environment, starting to make even little changes in your daily routine you can contribute significantly to a better society and our planet thanks you. Encourage your friends or family to don’t leave trash in gardens or public places, it´s a small action but can have a big impact if more and more people realize how important it can be.
And what a better way to be more involved in the issues of the communities then volunteer work? This is also an opportunity to meet people from another countries and cultures, you can improve many skills, learn other languages, get to taste different cuisines etc.
So why not start today to think about what you can do to be a part of the change?
It´s in our power to be more active and participant in our won community in a positive way ;)
